“Hands down, my new fave brunch place in ABQ! The staff here is beyond welcoming & make you feel so comfortable that it’s like you’re at home. The food is unimaginably delicious — as breakfast is my most fave meal of the day (..although, I don’t eat it often, but when I do.. I do it right). The Eggs Benedict here are made to literal perfection. So perfect that when you stick your fork into the egg, the yolk comes oozing out.. it’s utterly satisfying to see.I’d come back here in a heartbeat to try out other things on their menu!” -Linda T., Yelp review
Flying Star is on our list because they have something for everyone! They are the place for handmade bakery desserts, fresh roasted coffee, and homemade breakfast, lunch and dinner all day long. Have the best of both worlds – be crazy indulgent or eat smart to feel good!
“Oh Flying Star how I wonder why I have such a hard time choosing my meal? BLD? Does it matter? Not to my taste buds….although the the menu has shrunk significantly in the last 6 months to a year there’s still something for everyone. Carnivore, vegetarian, vegan and gluten free. Breakfast is what I usually eat here….tofu tacos are savory and super filling, hubby so favorite it the rise and shine with green chile turkey sausage. The coffee is truly some of the best in town.” – Rebecca R., Yelp review

“What a great way to spend my first breakfast in New Mexico! This place wasn’t on the list of places to visit. My lovely’s dad took us here for breakfast. There were so many things on the menu to choose from. It easily took me four times of looking over everything before I finally decided on my meal.” -Brad G. , Yelp Review

“Been coming here off and on for a few years now, and never have i left unsatisfied. Its best described as super fresh “home cooked” quality food… Everything just has that amazing quality to it, and good size portions for the amount you pay. They have a good variety available all day too. From potato skillets, huevos rancheros, turkey quesadilla, burgers, ect. Plus the staff is all super friendly too, so thats always a plus. I actually happy this place isn’t too close to my house, because I could eat here everyday. Great food.” -Terrance E. , Yelp review
Weck’s is on our list because it is a New Mexican favorite! You can order anything from a Denver Omelet to their famous Papa’s. Weck’s has been a “fully belly tradition” since 1991, and promises you won’t leave hungry!
“Searching for a great taste of local flavor for Sunday brunch? Then give the Farmer’s Benedict a try! They substitute the regular English muffins for biscuits, and it’s delicious. They also made the potatoes extra crispy just how I asked and they were perfect. I also recommend their green chili sauce, it’s some of the best in New Mexico. Maddison was sooo nice and hospitable, she even made the baby laugh a few times! Can’t wait to go back.” -Nick G. , Yelp review
“A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials heavy and sudden fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends desert us; when trouble thickens around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts.” ―Washington Irving
From all of us at Excalibur we wish all the mother’s out there a Happy Mother’s Day!
